The role of psychological resilience and spiritual health in predicting covid 19 anxiety in nurses

Introduction and Aim: The widespread and rapid outbreak of the COVID-19 has caused massive fear, stress, and anxiety, globally.  This study aimed to predict COVID-19 related anxiety based on psychological resilience and spiritual health. Methods: This study was conducted with a descriptive-correlational method. The statistical population was all nurses in Babol hospitals in 2021, of them, 188 were selected randomly. Data were gathered by the study survey consisting of psychological resilience tool, COVID-19 related anxiety questionnaire, and spiritual health tool online. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Both spiritual health and psychological resilience were negatively correlated with COVID-10 related anxiety and had the ability of its prediction. With increasing religious health, the  COVID-10 related anxiety decreased in nurses, indicating a strong association between religious health and anxiety. Furthermore, increased psychological resilience of nurses was also associated with decreased COVID-19 related anxiety (P <0.01). Conclusion: From a practical point of view, considering the role of variables in research, holding virtual workshops to teach psychological flexibility and spiritual health by health psychologists and counselors is recommended.
